With over three decades of experience playing various stringed instruments and provided BVs on hundreds of albums, I regularly record in the top London studios and throughout the UK. Equally comfortable sight reading written parts or picking up melodies by ear, I'm flexible, fast and easy to work with.

I love creating string arrangements and have worked with many bands and singers including Damon Albarn, Del Amitri, Delroy Pinnock, Dylan Burns, elbow, Emie Nathan, Five Seconds of Summer, Frankie Oliver, Freya Ridings, Lemar, Leona Lewis, Nicky Rubin, Olly Murs, Robbie Williams, Roots Manuva, Snow Patrol, The Cinematic Orchestra and Will Young. Whether it's a solo line or traditional quartet, sweeping orchestral strings or funky disco runs, an arrangement can really enhance your track. I can come to your studio (bringing the kitchen sink if you'd like violin, viola and cello!) or record remotely in my own, and put down any parts you have composed. They don't even need to be written out, you can sing ideas at me if you like and I'll play them back to you straight away. I particularly love to pick up melodies by ear and massively enjoy the creative process, sometimes the best lines come out on the day! If you don't have an arrangement already that's no problem, I'll write a suitable one for you in the style that you require. I can track parts to make a fuller sounding string section and I have multiple violins which all sound a bit different, creating a realistic and varied tonal mix when layered up.

How it works -

If I'm writing the strings, I'll send you a mix of my arrangement with the track so you can hear how it sounds and decide if you'd like any changes. When you're happy I'll record the final version and send you the individual parts as mono audio files, either dry or with reverb and/or eq'd by me if you prefer. If the strings are highly tracked (to make a larger section sound) I'll send a stereo mix and stem files so that you don't end up getting a crazy amount of parts! The instrument groups (eg. violin 1, violin 2, violas, cellos) are still separate though so that you can mix them as you wish.
